Thought Leaders Luncheon: A Fireside Chat with Nicholas Holland

Join AMA Nashville as Nicholas Holland, the VP of Product and GM of HubSpot Marketing Hub and CMS Hub, discusses the impact of AI on marketers and how it can effectively enhance customer experiences and build customer loyalty.

HubSpot is developing proprietary tools using large language models (LLMs) to create AI "agents" that help people plan and execute marketing strategies. These agents will be able to perform work currently being done by humans.

Just as scribes were replaced by printing presses, human marketing specialists may become replaced by these agents. Rather than considering this as a threat, Holland urges marketers to see the opportunity to embrace new AI "superpowers."

AI is more accessible than ever, thanks to advancements in large language models. At HubSpot, agents will be designed to help small businesses level up, while helping larger marketing teams do extraordinary work in a short amount of time. Holland's advice: avoid the AI hype and instead prioritize meaningful and practical use cases.

Overall, Holland's insights highlight the practical applications of AI in marketing and the importance of using it to create better customer experiences and build customer loyalty.

Identity Crisis: Examining the Cookieless Future for Advertisers

The imminent crumbling of 3rd party cookies, the longstanding lynchpin identifier that enables audience targeting and measurement, is ushering in a new age of cookieless advertising where alternative identity solutions are critical to digital advertising success. On the brink of this type of transformational moment, how is the advertising industry preparing (or not preparing) for increased signal loss and a cookieless world? What do industry professionals think of the leading alternative identity solutions? And how do marketers and advertisers feel about privacy and its place in the larger identity conversation? Google intends to deprecate third-party cookies in its wildly popular Chrome browser by the end of 2024, but savvy marketers must act now.

This presentation will:

  • Share a breakdown of events that have impacted cookie deprecation and changes to identity targeting and measurement

  • Highlight the industry noise around mythical ‘savior’ solutions and the realities surrounding them

  • Provide a practical look at the horizon of alternatives that advertisers need to be aware of and consider

  • Time: 5:30pm - 7:30pm

Vote for AMA Nashville Board of Governors
Feb

to Feb 28

Vote for AMA Nashville Board of Governors

Elect the FY 2024-25 AMA Board of Governors!

This election is to elect the board officers for the 2024-2025 fiscal year which begins on July 1, 2024.

Please select whether you Approve or Do Not Approve for each of the 2024-2025 AMA Nashville officer candidates.

Voting close on Wednesday, February 28 at 5 p.m.

Each candidate is running unopposed, in accordance with AMA's bylaws. It is intentional that there is only one candidate for each position. The Nominating Committee of the AMA Nashville works each year to identify candidates who (1) have exemplary credentials, and/or (2) a track record of AMA involvement, and (3) a commitment to invest their time and talent in AMA Nashville's future. Due to the level of commitment required by our board members, each position runs unopposed. If you would like to vote for an alternative candidate for a position, you may enter their name in the "Other" field.

The election process should be seen by AMA Nashville members not as a competitive election, but an opportunity to be informed regarding future leadership and to voice support for the incoming candidates. AMA Nashville moved to this model several years ago for three reasons: (1) it allows AMA Nashville to attract more candidates for office, since we found that some otherwise highly qualified candidates were not interested in investing in a competitive election process where they may need to campaign for office, and may not succeed in being elected, (2) AMA volunteer board service requires a significant time commitment and board members often serve for multiple years and (3) the new model follows best practices in corporate America and the nonprofit world.

*Must be a current AMA Nashville member to vote. See details above for requirements.

AMA Nashville Leadership Series: Management vs. Leadership

  • Lipscomb University - Swang Business Center (Room 230) (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

“Manager” and “leader” are different roles, but both are important and necessary when you’re responsible for a team and you don't have to be a manager to be a leader!

Join us on August 9th at 8:30 at Lipscomb University as Dew Tinnin leads our conversation on the differences between management and leadership, and explore ways you can be better at both roles.

Led by Skillway and hosted by Lipscomb University's Pfeffer Graduate School of Business, the Leadership Series equips marketers with the skills to succeed in business.

About Our Speaker: Dew was born and raised in Minnesota. She now calls Nashville home, although she works from anywhere (especially if they have a beach). Dew got the sales bug selling Girl Scout Cookies and never looked back. Dew’s been in sales or sales training (or, like now, a combination of the 2) for her entire career. She was a National Sales Trainer and producing Branch Manager at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. She’s been a sales coach and consultant since 2011 and made the big leap to start her own company in 2016.

Learn more about Skillway here

Location and Parking Details:

  • Swang Business Center, Room 230 (building #39 on the map and accessed from Belmont Blvd.)

  • You may park in any open, unreserved space in the surface lots or the parking garage P2 that is nearby

  • View the building map below or download the map here

The Leadership Series

At AMA Nashville we believe a professional organization needs to give its members the opportunities to learn and grow in all aspects of personal and professional life. To cultivate and bring value to our community we launched this academy to do just that. These sessions will have valuable takeaways and are being taught by leadership and sales coach guru Dew Tinnin and her team at Skillway.

This event is sponsored by Lipscomb University.
